IICM Berhad’s journey began with a vision to elevate institutional investor stewardship and strengthen corporate governance in Malaysia’s capital market. The organisation has evolved through key milestones, reflecting its growing influence and expanding role in advancing investor interests.

2 January
IIC transitioned to a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLBG) and commenced operations as IICM Berhad, strengthening its governance framework while continuing its established mandate.

2 May
IICM Berhad was successfully registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) under the Companies Act 2016.

3 July
IIC commemorated its 10th Anniversary Dinner, celebrating a decade of institutional investor collaboration and advocacy.

5 March
IIC organised the Third Corporate Governance Conference, reflecting the growing scale and relevance of its engagements.

23 September
IIC organised the Second IIC–SIDC Corporate Governance Conference 2022 and launched the 2nd Edition of the Malaysian Code for Institutional Investors 2022, reinforcing its role in advancing governance best practices.

18 & 19 November
IIC organised the inaugural IIC–SIDC Governance Convention 2019, marking a major milestone in investor education and governance discourse.

18 July
The official IIC website was launched to enhance outreach and engagement with stakeholders.

29 December
IIC was officially registered as an association with the Registrar of Societies (ROS) under the Societies Act 1966.

3 July
The Institutional Investors Council Malaysia (IIC) was established to represent the collective interests of institutional investors.

27 June
The Malaysian Code for Institutional Investors (MCII) was launched, laying the foundation for investor stewardship in Malaysia.
